Electrical contractors in Tulsa for light commercial work

Looking for electrical contractors in Tulsa who will take a small job seriously? Hot Shot Electric Service Co. is a licensed electrical contractor in Tulsa and Broken Arrow, working under Oklahoma license #26574 since 1995. Most of our work is residential. About one job in ten is light commercial: shops, offices, small retail spaces, and landlords who own several rental houses. Those customers get the same licensed journeymen, the same price-before-work rule and the same straight answers as our homeowners, scheduled around their business.

What we do and do not take onWe handle service, repair, upgrades and remodel electrical in existing light commercial buildings and rentals. We do not bid new construction, large commercial build-outs or industrial work.

Commercial electrician in Broken Arrow and Coweta

  • Troubleshooting and repair: dead circuits, tripping breakers, failed equipment power
  • New circuits for equipment, compressors, coolers and office additions
  • Panel repair, replacement and subpanels
  • Interior lighting and LED upgrades, exterior and security lighting
  • Outlets, GFCI protection and dedicated equipment outlets
  • Shop and garage wiring, including 240-volt tool circuits
  • Tenant-space refreshes and minor remodel electrical

Customers have used us for a construction setup and to wire a shop, and a general contractor wrote that he has a good idea of what is good and not, and that our crew is great.

Landlords and property owners

Rental owners are a steady part of our work. A tenant calls about dead outlets, a turnover needs safety checks and new devices, or an older rental needs GFCI protection and a panel brought up to date. One landlord put it this way:

Every time I call them, they get my problem handled quick. I have 6 rentals and any time I have an issue with anything electrical, they are quick, punctual, and easy to work with

Tell us about your properties when you call. We can work with your tenant to get in, keep you updated, and give you the repair price for your approval before work starts.

Three-phase and older buildings

Commercial buildings often have three-phase service, and parts of Tulsa even have three-phase power feeding houses, which is normally a commercial service. One of our journeymen holds an unlimited license, which covers commercial work, and we check whether the existing service can support new equipment before anything is added. When the building's wiring cannot carry what the business needs, we tell you and price the options.

Keeping your business running

We know a dead circuit in a shop or office costs you money. We answer the phone ourselves during business hours, and urgent problems are worked the same day, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Planned work can be scheduled early in the day or around your busiest hours. See urgent electrical repair for how we handle problems that cannot wait.

How commercial jobs are priced

Planned work is quoted up front after a site visit, and the estimate is free. Diagnosing an unknown problem is a diagnostic visit that includes a safety inspection, and you approve the repair price before we do the work. Permits are pulled where required. We accept cash, check, debit, all major cards and CashApp, and financing is available on larger projects.

Shops and garages

A shop needs more power than a garage usually has: 240-volt circuits for a welder, compressor or table saw, plenty of outlets at bench height, and good overhead light. We wire detached shops with a feeder and subpanel, and attached garages from the main panel when it has room.

Small offices and retail

Offices and small retail spaces need dedicated circuits for equipment, lighting that makes the space usable all day, and outlets where the desks and displays actually go. Many older buildings have been rearranged over the years without the wiring keeping up. We untangle what is there, add circuits where they are needed, and upgrade lighting to LED to cut the power bill.

Documentation for owners and managers

Property owners often need paperwork as much as the repair: what was found, what was fixed and what is still recommended. After a job we can give you a written summary for your records, your insurer or your next tenant turnover, so you know the condition of every property you own.

Lighting retrofits

Fluorescent tubes and ballasts in shops and offices are fading out. Replacing them with LED fixtures or retrofit kits cuts power use, removes the flicker and buzz of failing ballasts and reduces maintenance. We assess the existing fixtures and circuits, quote the retrofit up front and schedule it so the space stays usable.

Planned maintenance

For owners of several rental properties or a small commercial building, a periodic walk-through catches loose connections, failing GFCIs and overloaded circuits before a tenant calls about them. Tell us what you manage and we will suggest what is worth checking and how often.

Related services

Most commercial calls start as troubleshooting and repair. Larger needs often involve an electrical panel upgrade or lighting installation. If a building needs new circuits run, see wiring and rewiring.

Commercial customers get the same rules as everyone else. A licensed journeyman runs every job, apprentices never work alone, and the price is approved before the work starts. If the building needs more than light commercial work can provide, we will tell you up front so you can bring in the right contractor, rather than taking on a job we are not set up for.

Rental owners often have us handle turnovers between tenants: replacing worn outlets and switches, adding GFCI protection where it is missing, checking smoke detector circuits and confirming the panel is labeled. A unit that is electrically sound when a tenant moves in generates fewer calls later.
